Number Plate Sales – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of number plates and related products by RegSmart (“we”, “our”, “us”) through this website. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. The version in force at the time an order is placed shall apply.
2. Eligibility to Purchase
Customers purchasing UK registration plates must ensure they are legally entitled to display the registration number requested.
Where UK legislation requires documentary evidence before a registration plate can be supplied, customers agree to provide the necessary documentation before manufacture.
We reserve the right to refuse any order where sufficient evidence cannot be provided or where we believe supplying the plate would breach applicable legislation.
3. Ordering
All orders are subject to acceptance.
An order confirmation does not constitute acceptance of your order. Acceptance occurs when production of your order begins or the goods are dispatched.
We reserve the right to decline any order for any lawful reason.
4. Product Information
We aim to ensure all product descriptions, photographs and prices are accurate.
Minor variations in colour, finish or appearance may occur due to manufacturing processes or screen settings.
Customers are responsible for ensuring:
the registration supplied is correct;
spelling is accurate;
spacing requested complies with applicable law.
5. Road Legal Products
Where road-legal UK number plates are ordered, products will be manufactured to the relevant legal standards applicable at the time of manufacture.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure any plate purchased is used lawfully and fitted to a vehicle for which it is authorised.
6. Show Plates
Where products are advertised or sold as “Show Plates”, these are supplied for exhibition, display or off-road use only unless specifically stated otherwise.
The customer is solely responsible for ensuring lawful use.
7. Gibraltar Number Plates
Where Gibraltar registration plates are supplied, customers are responsible for ensuring they are entitled to use the registration number and that the plates comply with Gibraltar regulations.
We may request documentation where appropriate.
8. Pricing
All prices displayed are in Pounds Sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.
Prices may change without notice but will not affect orders already accepted.
Delivery charges are calculated separately during checkout unless stated otherwise.
9. Payment
Payment must be received in full before manufacture begins.
We accept the payment methods shown during checkout.
10. Production Times
Estimated production times are provided for guidance only.
Delays caused by document verification, courier services or circumstances beyond our control shall not constitute grounds for cancellation once manufacture has commenced.
11. Delivery
Risk passes to the customer upon delivery.
Customers should inspect deliveries promptly and notify us within 48 hours of any:
damage;
missing items;
incorrect products.
Failure to notify us within a reasonable period may affect our ability to investigate.
12. Returns & Refunds
Because registration plates are custom-made and personalised to each order, they are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once manufacture has begun.
We cannot accept returns or provide refunds where:
the customer ordered the wrong registration;
spelling or formatting supplied by the customer is incorrect;
the customer changes their mind after production has started.
If we have made an error in manufacture, supplied an incorrect item or the goods arrive damaged, we will repair, replace or refund the item as appropriate upon the outcome of an investigation.
Claims should be made within 48 hours of delivery and supported by photographs where possible.
13. Cancellations
Orders may only be cancelled before production begins.
Once manufacture has commenced, cancellation is not possible due to the personalised nature of the products.
14. Warranty
Manufacturing defects should be reported as soon as reasonably practicable.
This warranty does not cover:
accidental damage;
misuse;
incorrect fitting;
deliberate alteration;
normal wear and tear.
15. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods supplied.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability which cannot legally be excluded.
16. Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree:
all information supplied is accurate;
they are entitled to use the registration requested;
they will comply with all applicable laws governing vehicle registration plates;
- they will comply with requests made by us in order to validate vehicle ownership details through vehicle documents such as a V5C and that you are entitled to do so.
17. Intellectual Property
All website content, photographs, logos and graphics remain the property of RegSmart unless otherwise stated.
They may not be reproduced without written permission.
18. Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Documentation supplied for registration verification will only be used for lawful purposes and retained only where required.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which the sale is made.
Where UK sales are concerned, the laws of England and Wales shall apply unless otherwise required by applicable legislation.
